Updated 8 November 2024
We carried out this announced, on-site assessment on 26 November 2024. We found the practice had met all regulations. Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation and there was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement. Patients were treated with dignity and respect and at the time of our assessment, could access care, support and treatment when required. Patients’ care and treatment was provided in line with current guidance and infection control procedures were in place. Some improvements should be made to the systems for managing risks. For example, relating to medical emergencies. Dental Care Centre Elland is part of the ASR Dental Group. The practice is in Elland in West Yorkshire and provides NHS and private dental care and treatment for adults and children. The practice does not have step-free access and is not accessible for people who use wheelchairs, however patients who require accessible services were directed to other local practices. The practice is located near local transport routes and car parking spaces are opposite the practice. The practice had 4 treatment rooms. During the assessment we spoke with 2 dentists, 2 dental nurses and the practice manager. The group’s compliance manager and a manager from another practice were also at the assessment.
