During a routine inspection
We spoke with two people, one who used the service in the past and one current user of the service. They told us that any concerns or issues were dealt with efficiently and promptly. One person who currently used the service told us that, when the carer was struggling to get to them due to the heavy snow, they 'went beyond all reasonable efforts' to get there.
We saw that relevant policies and procedures were in place. We saw evidence that people who used the service were safeguarded from the risk of abuse and that appropriate safeguarding training was delivered to staff and renewed as needed.
We saw that staff were recruited safely and possessed appropriate qualifications. We saw that appropriate checks were carried out and staff were given an induction and further training and guidance. This was confirmed by the two members of staff with whom we spoke.
We saw that systems were in place to allow the continual monitoring and improvement of the service delivery. There was a complaints procedure in place and complaints and incidents were followed up appropriately.
