The Belfry is a residential care home providing personal care for up to 12 people aged 65 and over. At the time of our assessment, the service was supporting 9 people. We reviewed 19 quality statements; Learning culture; Safeguarding; Involving people to manage risks; Safe and effective staffing; Infection prevention and control; Medicines optimisation; Assessing needs; Delivering evidence-based care and treatment; How staff teams work together; Consent to care and treatment; Independence, choice and control; Person-centred care; Listening to and involving people; Equity in experiences and outcomes; Planning for the future; Shared direction and culture; Capable, compassionate and inclusive leaders; Governance, management and sustainability and Partnerships and communities. At our last inspection, we identified 3 breaches of legal requirement in relation to the providers management of risk for people, safe medicines management and ineffective governance processes in place to monitor the safety and quality of the service. At this assessment we found the provider had made improvements in relation to medicines management, assessing risks to people and governance, and were no longer in breach of these legal requirements. Although we found improvements to the providers governance systems and processes since our last inspection, further work was required to ensure an overall, more robust, monitoring of the quality assurance within the service.
