Well-led

Requires improvement

Updated 2 May 2024

Since our last inspection, the provider had made improvements. The provider had demonstrated their commitment to continuing to make improvements within the service and allocated sufficient resourses. However, many of the improvements had not yet been embedded into working practice. The new registered manager had been praised by people, for wanting to make improvements. Staff said they felt they would be listened to if they raised concerns, with appropriate actions being taken to resolve the issue.

This service scored 43 (out of 100) for this area. Find out what we look at when we assess this area and How we calculate these scores.

Flash meetings took place each day, and covered a range of topics such as day to day issues, tasks which needed completing, and any reminders staff needed to be aware of.

Freedom to speak up

Score: 2

Score: 1

We did not look at Workforce equality, diversity and inclusion during this assessment. The score for this quality statement is based on the previous rating for Well-led.

Governance, management and sustainability

Score: 3

Some areas of concerns remained at this assessment. For example, care plans were not always reflective of people's needs, personalised, or sufficiently detailed. We identified that some strategies to support people with distress were still not sufficiently robust or detailed, and the monitoring of this through record keeping and analysis was not effective. Personal emergency evacuation plans for people did not contain accurate details about their needs and the level of support they required should they need to evacuate the building in an emergency. The provider told us they will continue to make improvements to the service.

Staff told us the manager observed their practices, and provided support and guidance if the staff member could make improvements. Another staff member advised they realised there were a number of concerns at the service when they had first started, however, now staff have clear roles and responsibilities to follow and staff have felt this positive change.
