During a routine inspection
People who used the service and their representatives told us they were fully involved in the assessment process, planning and reviewing their care. Most of the care plans we looked at provided staff with instructions on how people preferred their care needs to be met.
There were recruitment and selection processes in place. Appropriate checks were undertaken before staff began working unsupervised with the people who used the service. This helped safeguard vulnerable people.
People had experienced significant changes in staffing since our last inspection although they felt changes had not directly impacted on their or their relatives care. The manager acknowledged this had impacted on the continuity of care people sometimes received.
Staff had received some training to keep people safe and to meet their needs. They told us they were supported by the manager and found them approachable.
People were provided with the opportunity to share their views about the service provided by the agency through satisfaction surveys and meetings. However, we found the provider did not have an effective system in place to continuously monitor the quality of the service they were providing.
