During a routine inspection
People's needs were assessed and care and treatment was planned and delivered in line with their individual care plans. We looked at the care plan of the person using the service. It was up to date and contained daily log, life history and cultural/religious needs sections.
We saw that the provider had a safeguarding policy in place which included contact details for the local authority safeguarding team.
There were effective recruitment and selection processes in place. We looked at the recruitment files of four care workers. Each file included an application form, interview notes, two written references, Criminal Record Bureau (CRB) and details of induction training.
The provider took account of complaints and comments to improve the service. We looked at provider records and saw that a complaints procedure was in place and that to date, no complaints had been received. The provider told us that when they took on more clients, they would start 6 monthly user surveys.
People were cared for by staff who were supported to deliver care and treatment safely and to an appropriate standard. A relative told us that staff 'understood and handled situations well' when a person's behaviour challenged the service.
