During a routine inspection
We also spoke to two relatives of two people living at the home. Both relatives told us the home has looked after people well. Comment was made by one relative that the home was relaxed and people have been able to express themselves. Another relative told us the providers have a good understanding of people's needs.
Due to people's needs we were not able to speak to them to check their views on the service they received. We used our SOFI (Short Observational Framework for Inspection) tool to help us see what people's experiences at were. The SOFI tool allows us to spend time watching what is going on in a service and helps us to record how people
spend their time and whether they have positive experiences. This includes looking at the
support that is given to them by the staff. We spent two periods of 15 minutes each, observing people in the living room and at the early evening meal. We found that people had positive experiences. The staff supporting them knew what support they needed. Staff were observed assisting people in a calm and polite manner.
