During a routine inspection
We were told by each of them that the care was very good, their needs were met and that they were very happy there. One person said, "The staff here are very kind and look after me well." Another said, "The food is good and there is always a choice and it is always very clean."
We found that people were asked for their consent before care or treatment was provided and that care staff monitored and reviewed the ability to consent on a regular basis.
Care plans we viewed were informative, reviewed regularly and contained the necessary detail to enable care and treatment to be delivered effectively. Staff we spoke with displayed a good level of knowledge about the care requirements of those people using the service. They told us that they contained detailed information to enable them to provide the care that each person needed.
Infection control systems were of a good standard. All rooms we visited were very clean and tidy and monitoring of cleaning schedules took place regularly. All staff were trained in food hygiene and infection control.
Recruitment procedures were effective and this ensured that only suitably qualified staff were employed at the location.
The provider had an effective complaints system in place. No complaints had been made since our last visit in October 2012.
