Updated 15 April 2025
Long Close Retirement Home is registered to provide care, and support for up to 17 people. At the time of this inspection there were 11 people living at the service. This inspection was prompted by fire safety concerns regarding the premises, however, following this inspection we were assured by the arrangements in place to keep people safe. The inspection took place on 23 April 2025. People had person-centred risk assessments in place for all their care and support needs. Risk assessments were carried out to identify any risks to people and to the staff supporting them. These included environmental risks within the service as well as potential risks when people went out in the community. There were systems in place to ensure all equipment and utility services were regularly checked, serviced and well maintained to ensure the safety of the premises. There were clear governance processes in place to ensure effective oversight of the service. Staff felt well supported and told us they enjoyed their jobs and felt they worked well as a team for the benefit of people living at Long Close Retirement Home.
