During a routine inspection
We observed the care being provided to people and saw that this was delivered in a quiet and respectful manner. We saw that there were care plans for each person living at the home, and that these were based on an initial care assessment of what each person needed and liked. Preferences and interests were recorded as much as their support needs.
We saw that the food was hot and that people were supported where this was necessary. The layout of the dining room was such that it enabled people to have conversations during their meal. The home had a comfortable lounge and conservatory area which offered privacy for people wishing to speak to family or visitors. People's rooms were seen to be adequate in size and several had en-suite w.c. Elsewhere there were bathrooms and toilets which were clean and accessible.
We found that the home's safeguarding policy and procedure and other records were found to be out of date and that some records were not able to be located promptly when required.
