During a routine inspection
Not all of the people living at the home were able to comment about the care they received or the skills of the staff, due to their various stages of dementia. However, we saw that people looked relaxed and comfortable in the presence of the care staff. We saw that people were clean and well presented.
People were happy with the food provided to them and we noted that people could choose the food they ate. One person said the food was good but not the same as if they had cooked it themselves.
People said they had the opportunity to carry out their preferred routines, with staff support if necessary. We saw people being treated with dignity and respect throughout our visit.
We noted that various activities took place both within and outside of the home. People could choose to join in or not.
We were told about how systems and care plans were being further developed as a result of the home's quality assurance audits.
