During a routine inspection
overall standard of care and support they received at Rosclare. Around a third of the 18 residents present in the home were spoken to.
Residents spoke positively about the staff team, with the general view that they felt able to ask the staff for any assistance or support they wished. Activities and trips were mentioned as pleasurable experiences, including occasional sing-a-longs and games.
We were told that residents felt able to exercise their independence in such areas of getting up, going to bed, receiving visitors, when to eat and going out of the home.
Residents also mentioned that at times they experienced delays in receiving assistance, such as if there was an occasional busy morning. In a few cases this could result in delays between receiving breakfast in their rooms and getting help with dressing.
Residents also spoke positively about the meals and the fact that they always had a choice in the menu and when to eat. However, some residents expressed a lack of certainty when asked if they could request a snack outside of the mealtime hours, for example, if a resident had had breakfast at 7am and was feeling hungry at around 10am.
