Our view of the service
We carried out this on-site announced assessment on 29 July 2024. We found the practice had met regulations. The practice had systems to manage risks. Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation. Infection control procedures followed published guidance. Patients’ care and treatment was provided in line with current guidance. Patients were treated with dignity and respect. At the time of our assessment, patients could access care, support and treatment when required. There was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement. Collingham Dental Care is in Wetherby and provides private dental care and treatment for adults and children. Treatments include dental implants and conscious sedation for adults. At the time of our assessment, the dental team included 3 dentists, 1 oral surgeon, 1 orthodontist, 1 clinical dental technician, 6 qualified dental nurses (1 of whom also works as a treatment co-ordinator), 3 dental hygienist and therapists, 1 receptionist and 1 practice manager (who is also a qualified dental nurse). The practice had 4 treatment rooms. During the assessment we spoke with 2 dentists, 2 dental nurses and the practice manager (who is also a qualified dental nurse).
People's experience of this service
During our assessment, we received feedback from 15 patients. All patients we received feedback from told us that staff were welcoming, polite and friendly. They also commented they were fully informed and involved with decisions about treatment and could get an appointment which suited them. The practice shared patient feedback with the team. We were told this was reviewed and where suggestions had been made, appropriate action would be taken. Staff gathered feedback from patients, the public and external partners and demonstrated a commitment to acting on feedback. Patients commented positively about the standards of cleanliness.
