The Care Quality Commission (CQC), has rated Clacton Maternity Unit, run by East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust as good following CQC’s first inspection of this service in July, since the merger of Colchester Hospital University Foundation Trust and Ipswich Hospital NHS Trust.
This inspection was carried out as part of CQC’s national maternity services inspection programme. The programme aims to provide an up-to-date view of the quality of hospital maternity care across the country, and a better understanding of what is working well to support learning and improvement locally and nationally.
How safe the service is has been rated as good, as well as how well-led it is.
