The Care Quality Commission (CQC) has published a report following an inspection of Sheffield City GP Health Centre, run by One Medicare Ltd, in December.

The inspection was carried out to follow up on areas of concern where regulations were breached at the previous inspection in April last year.

Following this inspection, the practice has been rated good overall and for being safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led.

Significant improvements had been made to ensure that care and treatment was provided safely and the provider had put in place effective systems and processes to protect people. Therefore, the service is no longer in special measures.

Inspectors found,

  • There were systems in place to safeguard children and adults from abuse and staff knew how to identify and report safeguarding concerns
  • The practice had clear systems to manage risk so that safety incidents were less likely to happen. When incidents did happen, the practice learned from them and improved their processes
  • Staff involved and treated people with dignity and respect
  • Waiting times to be seen, referred, or discharged had improved with the provider meeting key performance indicators
  • Staff feedback was greatly improved with staff saying they had seen a lot of positive changes since the last inspection and staff morale had also improved
  • Staff told us they felt able to raise concerns and that these were listened to
  • There was a strong focus on continuous learning and improvement at all levels of the organisation
  • The provider had a comprehensive training and development plan in place and had introduced formal clinical supervision for staff.
