When Healthwatch launches in October 2012, it will play a role at both national and local level and will make sure that the views of the public are taken into account.
A number of essential activities will take place over the next 12 months to ensure that Healthwatch is fully functional before its launch.
These activities include:

- developing information and briefings for local Healthwatch organisations.
- developing a work plan.
- agreeing the budget with the Department of Health.
- agreeing how the relationship between Healthwatch England and CQC will work.
- appointing the Healthwatch England committee.
- developing the Healthwatch England website.
