Kingsmead Lodge must improve its standards

The results of our latest inspection of Kingsmead Lodge in Bristol show that the nursing home is failing to meet our essential standards.

Our areas of concern cover:

• care and welfare of people who use services.
• management of medicines.
• staff recruitment.
• staff training, professional development and supervision.

Kingsmead Lodge is the second location provided by Mimosa Healthcare to be told it must improve its services. Last month we also reported on concerns at Sunnymead nursing home.

Kingsmead Lodge now has seven days to produce plans on how it intends to achieve compliance. The home has agreed to stop taking new admissions while improvements are being made.
