Last autumn, we published Equally Outstanding, a resource which shows how a focus on equality and human rights can improve care quality – even in times of financial constraint.
Equally Outstanding has been popular. In our provider survey this year:
- 88% of providers thought Equally Outstanding was relevant to their service - the highest of any CQC publication during the year
- 44% of providers were aware of the resource already. 45% of those who were aware had made a change to their service because of using Equally Outstanding.
One year on, we have updated Equally Outstanding with
- a new e-learning module
- extra case studies from outstanding providers
- an updated pdf version based on feedback
These resources will help people working in health and social care to
- understand the different reasons why a focus on equality and human rights can improve care quality
- make the case for equality and human rights in quality improvement work
- learn from providers who have worked on equality and human rights to deliver outstanding care
- reflect on the common success factors in outstanding providers using equality and human rights to improve care
- think about how a focus on equality and human rights can help meet challenges in times of financial constraint
Equally Outstanding will also help people working across health and social care as commissioners, regulators and in policy roles to understand how they can help improve care through a focus on equality and human rights.
We are pleased to work with our partners, including Skills for Care who are new to the project.
