Surrey Care service rated Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission

Reigate Senior Care Limited in Bletchingley Road, Redhill, Surrey has been rated Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission following a recent inspection.

Inspectors rated the service Outstanding for being caring and well-led and Good for being safe, effective and responsive to people’s needs. The overall rating was Outstanding.

Reigate Senior Care Limited is part of the wider Home Instead Senior Care group. The service provides personal care to people living in their own homes. There were 10 people using the service at the time of the inspection.

Deborah Ivanova, Deputy Chief Inspector, Adult Social Care, said;

“Reigate Senior Care has a strong, visible, person centred culture where the staff and management are committed to providing individualised care and treating people with compassion, dignity and respect."

“The service is a family run business and people and staff told inspectors they feel a part of the provider’s family with relatives confirming that the service impacted positively on theirs and their family member’s lives."

“Reigate Senior Care was rated Good overall in November 2015 and I would like to congratulate the staff and management on continuing to improve the standard of care provided so that it merits our highest rating of Outstanding”.

Andrea Sutcliffe, Chief Inspector, Adult Social Care, said;

“The quality of care which our inspectors found here was exceptional and I am very pleased that we can celebrate the service’s achievements."

“An outstanding service is the result of a tremendous amount of hard work and commitment. I would like to thank and congratulate everyone involved.”

Some of the key findings from the inspection include:

  • The service was exceptionally caring. Staff went above and beyond expectations to ensure that people were treated with kindness and compassion.
  • Friendships developed between people and staff and the focus from staffwas on ensuring that people's emotional as well as personal needs were being met.
  • Care was centred on people's individual needs. Staff maintained kind and caring relationships with people.
  • People felt safe using the service with one person telling inspectors "I feel safeand I am treated well." Relatives had no concerns about the safety of their family members.
