The Care Quality Commission has again rated the care being provided at Watlington and District Nursing Home to be Outstanding after an inspection in March 2019.

Watlington and District Nursing Home is registered to provide accommodation and nursing care for up to 60 people. At the time of the inspection 55 people were living at the home.

The service was previously rated Good after an inspection in February 2017. At the latest inspection the service was rated Outstanding for being responsive and well-led, and overall. It was rated Good for being safe, effective and caring.

A full report of the inspection has been published on the CQC website: www.cqc.org.uk/location/1-135968706

Rebecca Bauers, Head of Adult Social Care Inspection, said:

“When we visited this service everyone we spoke with was very positive about it, and the care being provided. We saw how the efforts that staff made to tailor the service, and help people be socially active, had made a positive impact on everyone involved.

“We found that the leadership had instilled a positive and supportive culture, and had a strong desire to provide high quality person centred care. The service ensured that people were involved in their care decisions. The people and staff were encouraged to share their experiences and feedback so they could be used to further develop and improve the service, they were thanked for their input.

“A great result for a service that has not stopped improving, well done.”
