The Care Quality Commission has rated the care being provided by Home Instead Senior Care, South Liverpool to be Outstanding after an inspection in June 2019.

The service is operated by Senior Care Services Limited and is part of the Home Instead Group, a domiciliary care service providing personal care to people in their own homes. At the time of the inspection 31 people were being supported by the service.

It was rated Good for being safe, caring and effective, Outstanding for being responsive and well-led, hence its overall rating of Outstanding/

A full report of the inspection has been published on the CQC website: www.cqc.org.uk/location/1-838024452

Some of the features from the inspection included:

  • People spoke positively about the staff and the quality of care they received. Staff were incredibly motivated to provide care that was kind, caring and compassionate and it was evident this ethos was promoted by all the management team
  • People were supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives and staff supported them in the least restrictive way possible and in their best interests; the policies and systems in the service supported this practice

Helena Dennett, Head of Adult Social Care Inspection, said:

“This service was really making a difference to people’s lives and was demonstrating excellent person-centred care. The service was very well-led. At the last inspection, the service was rated Good for well-led. At this latest inspection this had improved to Outstanding.

“Staff were very well motivated and proud of the service they worked for. One staff member told us, "I would really recommend the company." Staff felt well supported and encouraged to go the extra mile to ensure outstanding care was delivered to people. Many examples were provided, of staff going above and beyond to support people in ways that improved their everyday lives and general wellbeing.

“The provider and managers were continually striving to improve the service and build upon the high quality already provided. Lessons learnt from incidents and accidents were shared with staff to improve practice

“This is an outstanding service delivering first class care, congratulations to everyone involved.”
