Deborah Ivanova, Deputy Chief Inspector, Adult Social Care, said;

“This service has a clear vision which is fully embedded and places people at the heart of its operation and provides, high quality, person-centred care. People were overwhelmingly positive about the care they receive and told inspectors they feel safe with the care workers that visit them and are treated with kindness and respect."

“It is evident that people who use the service are being empowered to live as independently as possible and also encouraged to access facilities in the community which benefit them positively. I would like to congratulate the staff and management on their work in this area and their achievement in receiving an Outstanding rating”

Some of the key findings from the inspection include:

  • People expressed satisfaction with the care workers who visited them and said that they received effective care and support. One person said, "Very good carers. They know what they are doing. I have a lot of confidence in them."
  • There was a sustained and positive culture at the agency that was open, inclusive and empowering with staff motivated and inspired to go the extra mile to support people.
  • Caring, compassion, dignity and respect were reinforced as some of the main values of the agency within its brochure, staff job descriptions, employee retention plans and within staff training. Care workers received guidance during their induction in relation to dignity and respect.
  • The service worked with partnership agencies to offer an innovative responsive service in order to support people to remain independent. The “Peace of Mind” service operates alongside Chichester Careline to provide early intervention and feedback to family members and healthcare professionals. The responsive service includes the use of technology such as personal alarms which will attract a visit from care staff or paramedics when activated.
