Debbie Westhead, Deputy Chief Inspector of Adult Social Care said:
“We received amazing feedback about the staff and the management of this Outstanding service. We heard about and saw great efforts being made to ensure people were engaged with their care and were enabled to achieve their life goals. The service and its desire to support people to live full lives was clearly of benefit to the people using the service.
“There was a real emphasis on continual learning and development, improving the service to better care for people and helping staff with new oportunities.
“We found a deep commitment and passionate delivery of person-centred care at Moorview House, with staff and the provider investing time to learn about people’s needs and develop ways to support them safely. A truly Outstanding service.”
Some of the findings from the inspection included:
- keen to utilise technology, the provider developed a software package to support the service’s quality assurance and the management of people’s care
- the service conducted case studies to help identify potential risks to people and how they could be managed to prevent unsafe care
- people were supported by regular teams of care workers, ensuring care continuity
- the provider was consistent when involving people and staff in decisions affecting the running of the service
