The Care Quality Commission (CQC) has published a report following an inspection of Renal Services (UK) Ltd – Poole, which took place in March.

Renal Services (UK) Ltd – Poole is an independent healthcare provider providing dialysis treatments to patients living in Poole and the surrounding area. A local NHS trust commissions the service for patients who require regular dialysis. This was the first inspection of the service since its registration with CQC in October 2019.

In January, there was an outbreak of COVID-19 in the Dorset region which affected 40 dialysis patients and four members of staff. This raised concerns about the safe management of infection and the potential risk to patients who use the service, which prompted the inspection.

Following the inspection, the service has been rated good overall and good in the following domains: effective, caring, responsive to people’s needs and well-led. It has been rated requires improvement for safe.

Full details of the inspection are given in the report published on our website.
