The Care Quality Commission has rated the care being provided by Cleveland Care at Home Limited, trading as Home Instead Senior Care, in Stockton On Tees, Cleveland to be Outstanding following an inspection in September 2018.
The service is a domiciliary care agency, providing personal care to people living in their own homes in the community. At the time of this inspection 28 people were receiving support which included personal care.
CQC last inspected the service in March 2016 and rated the service as Good overall. At this inspection inspectors found that the service had improved. The service was found to be Outstanding in caring and well led and Good in respect of safety, effectiveness and responsiveness.
Inspectors found that people were at the heart of their care and support and received a high standard of person centred care delivered by staff who were extremely well trained and supported. Ongoing refresher training was also provided and this was regularly updated to meet the changing needs of the people receiving care.
A full report of the inspection has been published on the CQC website: www.cqc.org.uk/location/1-1949547929
Ros Sanderson – Head of Inspection, North East, Adult Social Care said:
“This service has improved its rating from Good to Outstanding and I congratulate them. We heard nothing but positive feedback when we talked to the people, and their relatives, being supported.
“Procedures in respect of medicines management and incident reporting were in place and being adhered to. It is clear people being cared for were kept safe.
“I was encouraged to see a prevention scheme that was in the early development stage during our last inspection had now been successfully implemented. Fraud prevention information and support was provided not just to people who used the service but also free of charge to the wider community. As a result of the scheme people had avoided falling victim to scams
“There was a very open culture that was driven by a very visible management team. The directors and registered manager spoke with passion about the service, what they had accomplished and how they wished to improve the existing high standards of care in the future.”
