The Care Quality Commission (CQC) has published a report following a focused inspection at Weston General Hospital’s emergency department.
The inspection, which took place in July 2020 was to ensure improvements had been embedded and sustained following an earlier inspection by CQC in December 2019, at which CQC issued the service a warning notice.
At this most recent inspection, the trust showed it had strived to meet the requirements of the warning notice to deliver care safely.
Full details of the inspection are given in the report published online at: www.cqc.org.uk/provider/RN3
Amanda Williams, Head of Hospital Inspection for the South West said:
“Weston General Hospital is now part of University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust and at this inspection we found that the new leadership team had started to implement the improvements the department needed.
“The team know what further improvements are needed. We will return to check that those improvements have been made at a later date”.
