Hinchingbrooke Hospital was rated as inadequate and placed into special measures in September 2014.

The A&E department was developed by:

  • introducing weekly meetings with the nurse in charge
  • the leadership team spending more face-to-face time with staff
  • structural improvements - a partition wall in the waiting room now separates the appropriately decorated and furnished adult and children's waiting areas
  • providing more appropriate care for patients with dementia

The hospital was rated as good in August 2016.
