It’s annual Learning Disability Week, and this year, the spotlight is on families and the superheroes among us.
Learning Disability Week is led by Mencap, a charity dedicated to supporting people with a learning disability, and their families and carers.
“The world is full of bad attitudes and wrong stereotypes,” says Mencap. “This year, we want to turn that around and celebrate the everyday superheroes that make all the difference.”
Get involved
Mencap want you to get involved by telling them about someone you know with real-life superpowers.
Visit Mencap to find out how to get involved on Twitter, Facebook, at local events and more.
It could be a mum with superhuman inner strength or a carer with Duracell bunny levels of energy and stamina. It could be a nurse who goes the extra mile with their patients or a single parent bringing up a child with a learning disability.
So, if there’s a superhero in your life, get involved and tell Mencap all about them.
