CQC staff on list of the most powerful people in health

Six members of CQC staff are included in Health Service Journal’s list of the hundred most powerful people in healthcare published today.

Prof Sir Mike Richards, the Chief Inspector of Hospitals is at number six, with David Behan, Chief Executive (7), Professor Steve Field, Chief Inspector of Primary Care (14), Chief Inspector of Adult Social Care Andrea Sutcliffe (30), Chairman David Prior (51) and Paul Bate, Director of Strategy and Intelligence (59).

The annual HSJ100 measures influence for the next 12 months. It includes: politicians, clinicians, chief executives, regulators and people working in health policy.

Simon Stevens, NHS England’s Chief Executive is top of the list, followed by the Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt at number two and the Cabinet Secretary and Head of the Civil Service Jeremy Heywood at number three.
