The Care Quality Commission has rated the care being provided by Crossroads Care Rotherham to be Outstanding after an inspection in January.
The service, Rotherham Crossroads - Caring for Carers t/a Crossroads Care Rotherham – a not for profit charity, is registered to provide personal care to people living in their own homes, and delivers support across the Rotherham and Sheffield areas.
It was again rated Outstanding for safe, caring and well-led services, and Good for being responsive. However, inspectors found significant improvements in the effective domain which improved the rating from Good to Outstanding. Overall Crossroads Care Rotherham was rated Outstanding for a second time.
A full report of the inspection has been published on the CQC website: www.cqc.org.uk/location/1-127912729
Helena Dennett, Head of Inspection (North West), Adult Social Care said:
“It is impressive to see that this service has maintained its high standards of quality and improved further on areas of good practice and care.
“Their work with other healthcare organisations to promote best practice and help bring together unpaid carers so they could be recognised for their contribution was extremely valuable to the local community. It helped to support people in avoiding social isolation and deal with the feelings of stress or anxiety sometimes experienced from supporting a loved one.
“It was clear that the service wanted to continually improve on the care and support it provides, and staff were inspired to follow this through so they offered the best possible care they could. Outstanding a second time, a fantastic achievement well done.”
