The Care Quality Commission has found the quality of care provided by Sutton House care home, Sutton In Ashfield, to be Outstanding overall following an inspection carried out in March.
MGB Care Services Limited runs the service which is registered to provide care for up to six people with learning disabilities. At the time of CQC’s inspection six people were living at the home.
Inspectors found staff were caring and compassionate and people were being provided with safe, responsive, caring, effective and well-led care. A full report of the inspection has been published on CQC’s website: www.cqc.org.uk/location/1-118269723
Under CQC’s new programme of inspections, all adult social care services are being given a rating according to whether they are safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led. Sutton House was rated Outstanding overall, Outstanding for being caring and responsive and Good for being safe, effective and well-led.
Rob Assall-Marsden, CQC’s Head of Inspection for Adult Social Care in the central region said:
“We were impressed with what we found during our inspection of Sutton House and inspectors were struck by how caring staff were to those using the service. People were listened to, protected from the risk of harm and supported in knowing what to do if they felt they were at risk of harm.
“There were enough staff to ensure people received care and support when they needed it. Medicines were managed safely and people were supported by staff who had the knowledge and skills to provide safe and appropriate care.
“Our inspectors found that people's choices were acted upon by staff who went the extra mile to ensure they lived a fulfilled life and that they were supported to develop their skills and knowledge.
“There was an open and inclusive culture which placed people at the heart of the service and strove to continually improve. People were involved in giving their views on how the service was run and there were effective systems in place to monitor and improve the quality of the service provided.
“All of this meant people received a high standard of care, which is why it has been rated Outstanding.”

“The quality of care which our inspectors found here was exceptional and I am very pleased that we can celebrate the service’s achievements.
