Dr Sanomi and Dr Olajide’s practice at Rush Green Medical Centre in Romford, Essex, has improved significantly and has now been rated Good overall, following a recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
The service was previously rated Inadequate and placed in special measures following an inspection in October 2019, but significant improvements have since been made.
Following this latest inspection on 10 November, the service has now been rated as Good in all areas: safety, caring, effectiveness, responsiveness and well-led. Overall, Dr Sanomi and Dr Olajide’s practice at Rush Green Medical Centre is now rated Good.
CQC’s Deputy Chief Inspector of Primary Medical Services, Vicki Wells, said:
“I am pleased to report that the practice has taken feedback from our inspectors on board and it is now well-led and managed, and providing high-quality care which keeps patients safe and protected from avoidable harm. This means that it is no longer subject to special measures.
“The improvement is particularly noteworthy during the Covid-19 pandemic and staff have done well to achieve a rating of Good overall, despite the additional pressures that they have been faced with this year.”
During the latest inspection, CQC found:
- Medicines are managed safely
- Risks are adequately managed
- Recruitment processes are more effective
- There are systems in place to share learning at the practice
As a result, patients now receive effective care and treatment and the practice organises and delivers services to meet their needs, ensuring that patients can access care and treatment in a timely way.
Full details of the inspection are given in the report published on the CQC website here.
