Home Instead Senior Care in Southmead Road, Bristol has been rated Outstanding by the Care Quality commission following an inspection in November.
Inspectors rated the service Outstanding for being caring, responsive and well-led and Good for being safe and effective. The overall rating was Outstanding.
Home Instead Senior Care is a service that provides personal care to people living with mental health conditions and physical disabilities in their own homes. There were 27 people using the service at the time of the inspection.
Deborah Ivanova, Deputy Chief Inspector, Adult Social Care, said: "This is a service where the vision, values and culture of providing kind, compassionate, individualised care based on people’s needs and preferences is fully embedded and adopted by the staff and management.
"The caregivers are highly motivated and fully supported by the management team in providing a good quality service to people and treating them with dignity and respect. The pride the entire team take in their work was evident throughout the inspection and I would like to congratulate the service on attaining an overall rating of Outstanding."

"The quality of care which our inspectors found here was exceptional and I am very pleased that we can celebrate the service’s achievements.

Some of the key findings from the inspection include:
- People were extremely positive about the service and the care provided and spoke highly of all caregivers. One person told inspectors: "The whole experience has been first class, I couldn’t have wished for more."
- The service was exceptionally responsive. Changes in people's needs were quickly recognised and appropriate prompt action taken, including the involvement of external professionals where necessary.
- There was strong emphasis on continual improvement and best practice which benefited people and staff.
- Staff were exceptional in enabling people to remain independent and rehabilitate where necessary. Through continual consultation and monitoring staff were able to identify if people's conditions had deteriorated and take appropriate action.
