The Care Quality Commission has found the quality of care provided by Vauxhall Primary Health Care on Limekiln Lane, Liverpool, to be Outstanding after a follow up inspection in November 2015.
Under CQC’s programme of inspections, the GP practice had previously been rated Good overall following a comprehensive inspection in April last year. The practice was required to improve its procedures for the safe recruitment of staff.
When inspectors viewed evidence from the service, in November, recruitment records showed that the necessary checks had now been undertaken to demonstrate the suitability of staff for their roles. As a result of the changes made by the practice, inspectors rated them Good for Safe services and the overall rating was changed to Outstanding.
A full report of the inspection has been published on this website.
Professor Steve Field, Chief Inspector of General Practice said:
“The GPs and staff at Vauxhall Primary Health Care have worked hard to improve and demonstrate a real commitment to their patients. All of this hard work and dedication pays off in making a real difference for their patients – which is why we are now able to rate this practice to be Outstanding.”
Sue McMillan, Deputy Chief Inspector of General Practice in the North, said:
"We are very happy that the staff at Vauxhall Primary Health Care took our findings in April very seriously and worked hard to ensure the concerns were addressed quickly.
“This is a great example of outstanding care.”
