A Bromley care service has been rated Outstanding overall by the Care Quality Commission.
Home Instead Senior Care - Bromley, Chislehurst & Orpington is a domiciliary care agency providing personal care to people living in their own home. The service was rated Outstanding for being well-led and caring and Good for being safe, effective and responsive following a CQC inspection in October 2017.
CQC inspectors found staff treated people and their relatives with kindness, dignity and respect. People and relatives told us staff were “Exceptional” and felt that they exceeded all expectations, going above and beyond in relation to how they cared for people. People and relatives cherished their relationships with staff and felt that they excelled when providing care and support to them. Staff spent time building relationships with people which had a positive impact on people’s lives.
Staff were extremely motivated to provide the best possible care and consistently thought about how to ensure people felt well cared for. This included staff visiting a client in hospital and helping another person with their shopping.
People and their relatives all thought the service was extremely well run and managed by the provider and registered manager. The values of the organisation had been embedded into staff practice and were evident from the feedback CQC received. Staff said they were always supported, valued and listened to by the management team.
The provider and registered manager were passionate about making sure that people living with dementia were able to have fulfilling lives wherever possible. An art workshop with an external organisation had been organised as well as dementia friendly cinema screenings and other activities for people and those close to them. These events helped bring people into, and feel part of, the local community.
