During a routine inspection
We viewed records of patient's care. These showed staff recorded all relevant information needed before treatment was administered. We spoke with two members of staff. They told us they always completed the patient's record to ensure patient's safety.
The service had an infection control policy in place. We viewed the two vehicles which we found to be clean and hygienic. Cleaning regimes were in place for both vehicles. Staff told us they had completed infection control training and described the procedures they followed to ensure the vehicles and equipment were cleaned regularly.
Equipment and vehicles were adequately equipped and maintained. Procedures were in place to ensure equipment was checked and replaced as necessary and medical gases were stored securely.
Records showed the necessary checks on staff employed as emergency medical technicians, nurses and paramedics had all been carried out.
