All Inspections

During a check to make sure that the improvements required had been made

This inspection was undertaken to review the actions taken by the service in response to issues we found at a previous inspection undertaken in December 2013.

We previously inspected the service in December 2013 and identified there were ineffective recruitment procedures in place. We found that the provider had failed to ensure that all the information required under legislation was available for each member of staff employed.

At this inspection we asked reviewed the service's updated recruitment policies and procedures, we saw details of the checks undertaken with staff and spoke with the Head of Compliance and Operations Coordinator. We found that the service had taken appropriate action to address the issues. All staff had undertaken Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks. There was evidence of checks on relevant qualifications and fitness to practice. This demonstrated that the provider now had robust recruitment policies and procedures in place which were followed in practice.

10 December 2013

During a routine inspection

On the day of the inspection the registered manager was not at the location. We spoke with the registered manager by telephone and we were assisted during the course of the inspection by three staff who were working at the clinic that day.

We spoke with three people and they were generally pleased with the service two people told us 'Overall the service is very good' and a third person commented that it was 'Really good.'

We found that people were provided with sufficient information about the treatments. The types of treatment and any associated risks and costs had been explained to people.

People's needs were assessed and they had been provided with a treatment plan and contract that detailed the treatment and any associated recommended products. People's medical history was documented and reviewed prior to each treatment.

The clinic was clean and there were processes in place to manage the risk of infection.

Staff had been required to undertake various checks as part of their recruitment. However, a reference had not been received for one member of staff and not all staff had been required to undergo a Disclosure and Barring service check.

There were processes in place to enable the provider to monitor the quality of the service provided
