During a routine inspection
Patients who used the service told us that they found staff helpful and knowledgeable. They told us they were able to make appointments when they needed, including emergency appointments.
The dentists ensured that patients were involved in planning their treatment, were given information about any treatment needed and had the options explained to them. One patient told us 'I am always given explanations of treatment that is needed. I am given choices and explanations are easy to understand'.
We saw evidence that the service sought patient's consent before any treatment was carried out in both written and verbal form. We looked at staff records and quality assurance systems and saw there were robust procedures in place for both. The practice regularly sought the views of people using the service, and responded to these views appropriately. Staff had all the necessary checks and documentation in place regarding their employment and registration.
