During a routine inspection
Patients told us the security guards made them feel safe but we saw that patients who used the service were not protected from the risk of abuse because the provider had not taken reasonable steps to identify the possibility of abuse and prevent it from happening.
We saw that the provider did not have a system in place to ensure that patients were cared for by staff that were supported to deliver care and treatment safely and to an appropriate standard.
It is a requirement of the service to have a registered manager in place to ensure that the service has systems to provide safe and effective care for patients. There was no registered manager in place on the day of our inspection. We have told the provider to take action to address this. We saw that the provider did not have systems in place that regularly assessed and monitored the quality of service that patients received.
