During a routine inspection
Acacia Dental Practice changed ownership four months before our inspection. One person told us that the new dentist had a more direct communication style and that their approach was, 'Not as gentle' as their predecessor. Other people were much happier with the new dentist. One said, 'I get excellent care here now'. Another told us, 'This dentist has saved my teeth'.
People told us the dentist always discussed their treatment plan with them and involved them in making decisions about their treatment.
People received their treatment in a clean, hygienic environment. The practice had a cramped decontamination room but there were suitable arrangements in place to ensure people were not placed at risk of cross infection.
Staff told us that they were getting used to the new owner's style of management but recognised that the improvements they had introduced had been necessary.
The practice had a well publicised complaints system and we saw that complaints were dealt with appropriately.
