During a routine inspection
We found that staff members were respectful and we saw positive interactions between the staff and people using the service.
Records we looked at showed that reviews of people's care needs, updates of their day to day risk assessment and meetings with their key worker had taken place.
Medicines were kept safely and handled appropriately. Each person's medicine was stored in individual locked cupboards in the staff office.
No one wished to show us their bedroom on this occasion and we respected their wishes. The provider may find it useful to note that the bathrooms and hallway areas were looking a little worn, although the house overall was clean and tidy.
Staff were well qualified to work in the home, with almost every member of staff having NVQ, degree or registered mental nursing qualifications.
The service had most recently updated the complaints policy in July 2013. We looked at this and found it was clear, accessible for people using the service and set out the steps for responding to complaints..
