We visited Destination Skin Weybridge to check if they had become compliant with the compliance action we made during our inspection in February 2013 and our follow up visit in November 2013. We did not on this occasion have discussions with people who used the service or staff. We met with one member of staff during our visit.

During an inspection looking at part of the service

We visited Destination Skin Weybridge to check if they had become compliant with the compliance action we made during our inspection in February 2013. We did not on this occasion have discussions with people who used the service or staff. We met with the registered manager during this visit and had discussions with two members of staff.

28 February 2013

During a routine inspection

We spoke with one person who had used the service who told us that the service was 'Very good.' We reviewed surveys and feedback from people who had used the service in the past year. We noted that people had commented positively about their interactions with the staff.

We spoke with two staff, reviewed records and made observations throughout the inspection.

We observed that staff were helpful and that people were offered explanations about treatments and what to expect.

We noted that the all clinic rooms were clean and that staff had followed the systems that were in place to maintain cleanliness and reduce the risk of infection. However, systems were not effective to ensure that staff could follow all the cleaning checklists when they were busy, which meant that standards of cleanliness and hygiene were not maintained effectively.

We reviewed recruitment of staff and noted there was appropriate checking of the skills and qualifications but that not all the recruitment procedures were followed that met Schedule 3 of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 requirements.

We saw that quality and monitoring processes were in place and that people had expressed satisfaction in relation to the quality of the service.
