During a routine inspection
We found that people underwent a medical history assessment as a part of their initial consultation and before any treatments were provided. This assessment was recorded on a specific treatment plan and people were then asked to provide an update to this, or to confirm no change, at each subsequent visit.
We found that the clinic was cleaned at the end of each working day by an external contractor and deep cleaned once a month. The clinic was checked by staff each morning prior to opening to confirm the cleaning had been carried out to an acceptable standard.
The manager explained the induction procedure and requirements of the service that only staff trained and accredited to carry out specific treatments were permitted to do so. This included training to use laser equipment and regular checks that staff were using the correct procedures. The complaints procedure was clear and included contact details of other organisations that people could contact if they remained dissatisfied with how their concern had been dealt with by the provider.
