Gender Plus Hormone Clinic Also known as Gender Plus Healthcare Limited

Gender Plus Hormone Clinic offers specialist endocrinology interventions for adolescents and young adults with gender dysphoria, as diagnosed through a comprehensive gender assessment by gender specialists. As part of our assessment, we looked at 10 patient records, observed 3 consultations and spoke with 21 patients and their families, 7 members of staff including the nurse consultant, mental health nurse, administrator and clinical psychologists. This is the service’s first assessment since being registered in January 2024, therefore, they have no previous rating. We carried out an announced onsite assessment looking at all the quality statements for safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led. We found: The service was led by committed, passionate and focussed managers who ensured patients were at the forefront of every decision made. There is a strong, visible person-centred culture. People’s individual needs and preferences are central to the planning and delivery of tailored services. Governance and performance management arrangements are proactively reviewed and reflect best practice. Leaders have an inspiring shared purpose, strive to deliver and motivate staff to succeed.

During our assessment, we spoke with 21 patients and their families. We received overwhelmingly positive feedback from patients who told us they felt cared for, listened to, and fully informed of the treatment options. They felt the care was very patient centred, joined up and was focussed on the goal of delivering the best and safest outcomes for their individual needs. One patient told us “The experience has been amazing, and I have felt genuinely cared for by people whose only goal is for me to make a safe and healthy transition.”
