During a routine inspection
Staff received appropriate professional development. Most carers we spoke with had received appraisals. These looked at their performance over the past year, whether targets had been met, any training gaps and developmental goals for the next year. Carers also received supervision every three months. This generally covered punctuality and training.
The agency had quality assurance programmes in place to support and monitor the delivery of a person's care. One programme involved supervisors' in the agency carrying out unannounced spot checks on carers' in a person's home. The supervisor carrying out the checks observed the carers' interactions and delivery of care with the person receiving the service. Any actions would be discussed with carers.
