During a routine inspection
People told us that they were satisfied with the care they were provided with and that their care needs were met. 'It is nice here and I do not have to worry about a thing', 'they treat me well. I want to end my days here' and 'it is brilliant here, but I would like to live independently again'.
They told us 'I can get up at any time and they will cook my breakfast for me when I want it', 'I can go to bed at night when I want and I like to watch TV in my room in the evenings' and 'I only like to eat certain foods and so I get different meals from the others'. One person told us that they were able to go out every day and collect their newspaper.
Despite the assurance from people living in the home that they were satisfied with the care and support they were receiving, there were a significant number of concerns and shortfalls identified as a result of this review. We have asked the provider to take action in order to achieve compliance with five areas and to make improvements with a further one area in order to sustain compliance.
We will be monitoring the provider to make sure that action is taken to address the following:
Outcome 4: Care and welfare of people who use the service
Outcome 7: Safeguarding people who use the service
Outcome 10: Safety and suitability of the premises.
Outcome 14: Supporting workers
Outcome 16: Assessing and monitoring the quality of service provision.
