People who used the service and relatives told us that they were involved in making decisions about the care and support that they received and that they felt well supported by the agency. We were told that the domiciliary care agency provided a reliable service. We were told that staff supported an encouraged people to be independent, which enabled people to stay in their own home. One person spoken with said, "Everything works very well. The care staff are great, always on time and very reliable." Another person said, "The staff are very good, very amiable and very understanding."Staff spoken with during the inspection demonstrated a good understanding of the meaning of dignity and how this encompassed all of the care for a person. Staff spoken with were knowledgeable about the people they cared for.
During the inspection we looked at the care records of four people who used the service. We found that some care plans were insufficiently detailed to ensure that the care and support needs of the person would be met.
We found the agency recruitment procedure to be robust. Appropriate checks were carried out on staff before they started work.
People were cared for by staff who were supported and trained to deliver care safely.
People told us they felt comfortable and safe with their care workers. People also told us they would feel comfortable speaking to the manager, or the office staff, about any issues which may arise.
