During a routine inspection
Patients felt that quality of their care was "excellent" and said that the thoroughness of their assessment was also "excellent". When patients first started using the service a medical history was taken and people underwent an examination. Patients were referred to medical specialists as required.
Dr Kalina was aware of different types of abuse and how to recognise signs of possible abuse in adults and children. There was a procedure in place for how to escalate any concerns including contacting the police, local paediatric specialists or social services.
Dr Kalina had an annual appraisal and attended training courses and educational meetings on a regular basis.
Patients were asked to complete patient satisfaction surveys on a regular basis and the results of these were reviewed. There were processes in place for the review of any incidents, accidents or complaints.
