During a routine inspection
Is the service safe?
We found through speaking with five people who used the service, observation and looking at patient report forms that patients' safety and welfare was ensured and their individual needs were met.
We found some concerns with the systems and processes in place to monitor infection prevention and control and the storage of medical gases. Information received following our inspection indicated the provider had taken actions to rectify the storage of medical gases.
Is the service effective?
The provider had an induction programme for sub-contracted staff who were new to the service. However, we could not be assured appropriate checks were undertaken before staff carried out work for the service.
Is the service caring?
All the people we spoke with were positive about the quality of the care and treatment the service provided. They told us staff attitudes were good and we were told patients were involved in decisions about their care.
Is the service well led?
There were effective systems to monitor the quality of care and manage risks to people's safety and welfare through staff training and support.
